Jihee Han is a professor of English at Gyeongsang National Univ. in South Korea. Educated at Yonsei University (BA & MA) and the University of Tulsa (Ph.D.), she authored Motherhood and Mothering Experiences: Adrienne Rich's Life and Feminist Criticism (Korean), A Companion to Ten Modern Korean Poets (English), Korean Pop-Culture and the Cult of True Girlhood, Sonyeo (Korean), Harlem Renaissance: The Birth of New Negro in the 1920s (Korean), and Now Is the Time to Read Poetry (Korean). She also authored and edited World Literature and the Politics of the Minority (English) and published several journal essays on various topics in Comparative World Literature, Modern American and British Poetry, and East-Asian Literature and Culture. She translated Adrienne Rich's The Fact of a Doorframe into Korean and Sukyung Huh's fifth collection of poems into English, Global Blues. She has served as a Chief Editor of the Journal of Modern British and American Poetry and as a Dean of the School of Languages at GNU. Currently, she serves as a Director of the Institute for Global Humanities at GNU (www.globalhumanities.institute) and president of the Modern British and American Poetry Society of Korea.
